ELIPH (>18 ppt) Elizabeth Mesohaline
The Elizabeth River Polyhaline segment begins at the boundary of the James River Polyhaline segment, extending from the northwest side of the pond 1950 feet south of Sewells Point Docks on the eastern shore to the northeast corner of Craney Island Disposal Area on the western shore. It extends upriver to adjoin the mouth of the Western, Southern, and Eastern Branches of the Elizabeth River. The Elizabeth River Polyhaline segment also adjoins the Layette River at Tanners Point on the northern shore and 1400 feet due east of light southeast of Tanners Point on the southern shore. There are no continuous monitoring stations in this segment at this time. Total Area: 2.22 square miles
