APPTF (0 – 0.5 ppt) Appomattox River Tidal Fresh

The Appomattox River Tidal Fresh Segment extends from the boundary with the James River Tidal Fresh 1 segment extending from Hopewell City Point on the south shore to approximately Shand Creek on the north shoreline. It then extends upriver to Petersburg with the segment boundary occurring about 1500 feet upstream of the Rt 1 Bridge. There is one continuous monitoring station on this segment located near the mouth of the river at Weston Manor. This station became active on March 29, 2006. Total area: 3.09 square miles
