| hellneck@earthlink.net | The Piankatank is a great place to grow oysters. The VMRC has restored a number of reefs in the Piankatank on the original sites of old oyster rocks. I live on Ferry Creek, and even though it is high enough up the Creek that the salinity is not great, the oysters grow and NEVER die of disease. You should be able to grow oysters as far upstream as the power line crossing. If you have other questions, I would be glad to try to help. We have grown oysters since 1996.
