Hands-on, feet-wet, high-tech ocean education and marine environmental education programs for all ages. Site provides information on student summer camps and activities, teacher workshops, and non-credit lifelong learning programs. MarineQuest programs run year round and include: salt marsh expeditions, boat trips, educational beachcombing, lectures and hands-on lab work at the UNCW Center for Marine Science.

Project Oceanology
Connecticut-based facility offers programs for students K-college, teachers, families, individuals, organized groups. Programs designed for age, curriculum needs and interest. Shoreline and shipboard classes in marine biology, oceanography, maritime history use an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating science and social studies. Hands-on investigations highlight learning by doing, with authentic oceanography equipment. Programs range from 2.5 hours to 5 days with overnight accommodations. National Marine Sanctuaries Education: For Students
Offers information and hands-on activities in ocean, watershed, technology and marine careers topics; for students of all levels. Regional field experiences for students and teachers. On-line resources include: virtual Sanctuary fieldtrips, virtual expeditions and discovery classrooms. Some address national standards and state standards.

Dolphin Camp
Headquartered in Pittsboro, North Carolina, but taking place in and around Florida, Dolphin Camp offers exciting summer experiences. Site provides information including logistics on all four experiences, including: New Moon Dolphin Camp, for girls ages 8-14 and a parent, Dolphin Camp at Sea, for ages 18 and up, Marine Bio Camp and Marine Bio Camp at Sea, both for ages 14-18. Each program site includes information on registration, accommodations, FAQ, and photos.

Monterey Bay Aquarium & Research Institute Summer Internship Program
MBARI offers summer professional development opportunities for teachers, graduate students and undergraduates. Mote Marine Lab College Intern Program
Internships at the undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate level in Mote's Centers for marine mammal and sea turtle research, shark research, coastal and tropical ecology, fisheries enhancement and aquaculture, and eco-toxicology. Describes project research focus, applicant requirements, intern duties. Depending on project, tasks range from field to lab work, equipment maintenance, sample sorting, data collection and entry, education outreach, animal care. No stipend or lodging allowance, but scholarship opportunity exists; download application and follow submission instructions.

Salish Sea Expeditions
At-sea education program combines classroom study with shipboard science studies in Puget Sound, Washington. Offers spring programs for schools and home schoolers, summer programs for families and youngsters; expeditions of 1 to 5 days involve oceanographic sampling activities, navigation and sailing responsibilities aboard a 61-foot sailing vessel. Teachers can join a preview sail to evaluate; site provides details on water quality, plankton and other studies and equipment used.

Research Internships in Marine Science - Woods Hole, MA
Introduces summer marine science research internships for undergraduates. Interns work with scientists, experiencing the spectrum of professional activities involved in the marine research field. Two programs available: REU on Coastal Bays of New England, open to all undergraduates sophomore and up; Woods Hole Marine Science Consortium internships are open to students of consortium member institutions. Mote Marine Laboratory Summer Programs
Access information on all of Mote Marine Lab's summer programs for students of all levels and teachers. Students can learn about what lives in a mangrove, manatees, how aquariums care for fish, and lots of tropical ecology. Teachers can learn about obtaining collection permits and the best ways to catch specimens. Also, teachers can access the aquarium for FREE on Tuesdays throughout the summer.
